Charles “Chuck” L. Eggers, 75, died Sunday, December 21, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Fond du Lac on June 27, 1939 a son of Elmer and Frances (Scherer) Eggers. He attended Fond du Lac Senior High School and then served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1956-1958.
Chuck liked to bowl and play golf in a league with his brother. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching TV; especially the Brewer and Packer games. He loved to gamble! He was passionate about his Yorkie, Snickers and Alley, his Border-Collie “Grand-dog.” In addition to his military service, Chuck spent 42 years as a machinist at Mercury Marine before retiring in 2000. Following his retirement, Chuck worked as a vehicle coordinator for Van Horn Hyundai; a job that he truly loved.
Surviving Chuck is his daughter, Tracy (Dave) Randow of Green Bay, his significant other of 20 years, Judi Ziemann, a brother-in-law Arden Hjelle, a sister-in-law Cathy Eggers and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother John “Jack”, 3 sisters; Mae (Joe) Parish, Winnifred (Arnold) Roloff, Jean Hjelle and a nephew, Thomas Roloff.
Visitation for Chuck will be held Saturday, December 27, 2014 from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 4:00 PM. Cremation has taken place.
