Charles L. "Chuck" Dowler

Charles L. "Chuck" Dowler, 58, of Fond du Lac, passed away surrounded by his family at Froedtert Lutheran Memorial Hospital in Wauwatosa on Saturday May 9, 2009. He was born March 11, 1951, in Fond du Lac, the son of Dow L. and Margaret "Pegs" Smith Dowler. Chuck was a 1969 graduate of L.P. Goodrich High School. He later attended and graduated from Milwaukee Area Technical College in 1972 as a horologist. Besides being licensed in clock and watch making, he was a Master Carpenter. He enjoyed poetry, hiking in Hobbs Woods, all types of music, and dancing. Chuck possessed a great sense of humor and loved telling stories. He was a Good Samaritan and touched people's souls. Surviving are two daughters, Ryan Dowler of Burbank, CA, and Josie Dowler of Fond du Lac, a grandson, Quentin Salazar of Fond du Lac, two sisters, Annette Marie Hamm and her son Aaron Hamm of Fond du Lac, and Patricia (Edward Jr.) Benzel and their sons, Jason (Paula and daughter Allison) and Ben (daughter Cynthia Joy), and his father, Dow L. Dowler of Fond du Lac. He is further survived by his special friend and former wife, Susan (Roger) Lont of Fond du Lac. His mother preceded him in death.



Visitation for Charles L. "Chuck" Dowler will be on Wednesday, May 13, 2009, from 3 to 8 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Liturgy of the Word for Christian Burial services will be at 6 pm at the funeral home. Deacon Larry Hughes will officiate. Cremation will follow with entombment of cremated remains in the Chapel of The Risen Christ Mausoleum at a later date. A memorial has been established in Chuck's name.
