Charles "Chuck" R. Hess, age 78 of Fond du Lac, died Saturday, December 31, 2011 at the Hospice Home of Hope. He was born in Taycheedah on June 13, 1933 the son of Charles A. and Agnes Michels Hess. On May 5, 1956 he married the love of his life Anna "Ann" M. Drolshagen in Fond du Lac. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Army. He was employed with Service Motors for 53 years retiring in 2006. Chuck was a member of Holy Family Parish, VFW Post No.1904, Trier-Puddy American Legion Post No.75 and Fond du Lac Eagles Aerie No.270. He served as First-Vice for the American Legion Post No. 75 for five years and frequently volunteered his time with many community organizations. His greatest passions were going on gambling trips with his wife and spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed puttering around on cars and helping out at his daughters business the Casa Anna Cheese Store. SURVIVORS: Chuck is survived by his wife Ann Hess, Fond du Lac, three children; Bob (Jana Secord) Hess, Fond du Lac, Cindy (Lewis) Blank, Oshkosh, Pam (Jerry) Hall, Fond du Lac, five grandchildren; Jason (Cara) Blank, Angela (Chris) Price, Nicci Hess, Jacob Hess, and Jordan Hall, three sisters; Millie Krueger, Fond du Lac, Agnes Doyle, Fond du Lac, Carol (Larry) Maas, Taycheedah, one brother Joesph (Karen) Hess, and many nieces and nephews. Chuck is further survived by sister-in-law Ethel Lohse, Fond du Lac and brother-in-law Leonard (Donna) Drolshagen, Florida. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Susan, two sisters, Shirley (Armin) Wojahn, and Mary (Serve) Schneider, brother-in-laws; Jim Doyle, Ken Krueger, David " Rebel " (Kam) Drolshagen, Wayne Lohse, mother-in-law, Elsie Westemeier.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 from 3 to 7 PM at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. FUNERAL: Memorial services will be held at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Reverend Bernard Sippel will officiate. Cremation has taken place with inurnment at Calvary Cemetery. Trier-Puddy American Legion Post will conduct military services.In lieu of flowers memorials appreciated to Hospice Home of Hope or Trier-Puddy American Legion Post No.75.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
