Charmaine L. La Shay

Charmaine L. La Shay, age 84, formerly of Fond du Lac, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2014 in Neshkoro. She was born on December 15, 1929 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Sam and Loretta (Leet) Shaw. On September 10, 1949 she married Harold F. "Danny" La Shay at Covenant United Methodist Church in Fond du Lac. He preceded her in death on February 2, 2009. Charmaine was a volunteer for twenty-five years at St. Agnes Hospital Red Cross from 1970 to 1995. She was a member at Covenant United Methodist Church, she was a choir member there for forty years, a member of the church circle for over thirty-seven years, and a church mission member for over fifteen years. She was a volunteer at King Veterans Home for over ten years and was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary from 1991 to 2014. SURVIVORS: eight god-children, Rose Phillips, David (Shirley) La Shay, Anthony La Shay, Mary Jane (Jerome) Boehlen, Sara Krueger Zuengler, Kent Thorpe, Cheryl (Arthur) Abitz, Shane (Maranda) Abitz; honorary grandchildren, Robert Zuengler, William A. Zuengler, and Lillan J. Zuengler; one sister, Malita J. Patchett of Fond du Lac; one brother, Sam (Iona) Shaw Jr. of Fond du Lac; brother in law, Andrew Portman, one aunt, Mildred Guetchow, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold, brothers in law, Louis Patchett, David La Shay Sr, Arthur La Shay, Manley La Shay, George La Shay, and Ervin La Shay; sisters in law, Katherine Portman, Linda Giebel, Gert La Shay, and Blossom La Shay, and Keith Zuengler.



VISITATION: Friday, April 25, 2014 from 4-8 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 Park Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. FUNERAL: Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Covenant United Methodist Church, 20 N. Marr St, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935 with the Reverend Michael Morning officiating. Visitation will take place on Saturday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
