Christopher R. “Chappy” Chapman, 33, died Thursday, March 24, 2016 due to injuries suffered from an automobile accident. He was born in Oklahoma City, Okla. on July 7, 1982, a son of James and Debra Chapman. Chris was a proud graduate of Oklahoma State University (OSU) “The States University, Home of the Cowboys”, receiving his degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology in 2005. On August 16, 2009, he married Meggie D. Martin in Oklahoma City. Chris was a devoted member of the Mercury Marine team, serving as an Application Engineer, having worked in their locations in Oklahoma, Tennessee and most recently, Wisconsin.
Most important to him was his wife, the love of his life, Meggie, and their two children; Laney, his little “Pistol Pete” and Kyler, his little helper. Chris will be remembered as being a project guy. He could fix anything. He loved Mercury, was passionate about his career and possessed a skill level that was second to none. In addition, Chris enjoyed golf, his Ford, and working on his boat. He loved the water.
Surviving Chris is his wife, Meggie; their children, Laney Claire and Kyler Ryan; his parents, Jim and Debra Chapman; his brother, Stephen Chapman; his paternal grandparents, Donald and Arlene Chapman; his uncle, John Judy and his wife, Valerie, who helped to cultivate a passion in Chris for all things mechanical; his uncle, Dale Chapman; his aunt, Lori Chapman; and all of Meggie’s family, to whom he was very close and was accepted as one of their own. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. Chris was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Jeanne “Nana” Judy; and his uncle, Timothy K. Reagan.
Visitation for Chris will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. Funeral service will follow the visitation at 6:30 PM with Rev. James Borgwardt of Redeemer Lutheran Church officiating. Cremation will follow the services. A memorial service will be held in Edmond, Okla. on Saturday, April 9, 2016 with time and location updated on Uecker-Witt’s website.
