Clayton F. Smith

Clayton F. Smith, 84, of Eden, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2014 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born February 12, 1930 in Fond du Lac, the son of Daniel J. and Laura X. DuFore Smith. On July 11, 1953 he married Mavis A. Kaiser at Immanuel Trinity Lutheran Church. Clayton was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. He drove semi for L.C.L. Transit for many years, retiring in 1992 and then worked part-time for Enterprise for 17 years. He was a member of Eden Lions Club and enjoyed fishing, cars and loved being with people. Clayton will be remembered for his quick wit, sense of humor and his remarkable memory.



He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mavis; four children, Rickey, Terry, Tammy (Dan), and Jay (LeAnn); seven grandchildren, Brook (Jacob), Glen, Leanne, Davis, Marcus, Bryanna, and Jacob; three great grandchildren, Kiara, Ivana and Azura; two sisters, Frances and Jean (Bud); nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Tyler; one brother, Donald.



The visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again on Friday from 10:00 – 11:00 am at church. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 11, 2014 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 855 Martin Avenue, Fond du Lac, with Rev. Matthew Reis officiating. Entombment will take place in Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park.
