Clyde T. "Barney" Barnes

Clyde T. "Barney" Barnes, 92, of 554 S. Park Avenue, died Wednesday, September 12, 2007, at the Hospice Home of Hope. He was born December 12, 1914, in Norris City, IL, the son of Chaley and Rose Morris Barnes. He married Anita B. Faust and she preceded him in death. He later married Therese Haller and she also preceded him in death. Barney was a professional musician playing the saxophone, clarinet, and singing in bands throughout the United States. He was also employed as a shoe salesman for Schumacher Shoes and managed the McNeil & Moore Clothing Store in the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee. In addition, he modeled for Oshkosh B' Gosh, Mercury Marine, and the Miller Brewing Company.Surviving are two daughters, Kathleen Cronin and Colleen (Don) Jaber, both of Fond du Lac; six grandchildren, Richard Cronin of Fond du Lac, Patricia (Roger) Hoover of Door County, Colleen Cronin of Baraboo, Susan Jaber Faris of Fond du Lac, Daniel (Julie) Jaber of Rawlins, WY, and Michael (Heidi) Jaber of Fond du Lac; three great-grandchildren, Carson Faris of CA, Dani Jaber of Rawlins, WY, and D'Amani of Fond du Lac. His parents, both wives, a granddaughter, Kathy Jaber, and a brother, Logan Barnes, preceded him in death.



Memorial services for Clyde T. "Barney" Barnes will be on Monday, September 17, 2007, at 9 am at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place. The Rev. Brent Balken will officiate and inurnment of cremated remains will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be directed to either Hospice Home of Hope or the Lighthouse Christian Church.
