Conni Potratz, 65, of Fond du Lac, flew into the arms of her Savior on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. Conni fought a long and painful battle with Frontotemporal Dementia. Today she is free… no more pain, no more crying and for that we rejoice with her.
Words cannot describe the impact Conni had on those around her. She was strong, courageous, and the backbone of the Potratz family. She would do just about anything for her children and grandchildren and she went out of her way to make sure everyone felt loved and accepted. Even until the end, Conni used even her dimmest situations to find ways to love on others, and to be the hands and feet of Christ. Although her last few years were harsh, Conni led a beautiful life.
Conni was a devout mother and wife who stayed home in her children’s youth. She then pursued a 22-year career in Phlebotomy where she thrived as a Phlebotomy Supervisor at Consultants Laboratory. She was a teacher, encourager and all-round amazing woman with an incredible work ethic.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, John W. Potratz; four children, Angi (Andy) Roloff, Jacki (Chris) Haase, Seth (Marianne) Potratz, and Bethany (Mark) Nier; she also leaves behind six grandchildren, Averi and Carter Roloff, Norah, Kate and Clare Haase, and Corban Nier; her mother-in-law, Ruth Potratz; siblings, Dennis Russell, Colonel Michael (Betsy) Russell, Paula (Jim) Howe, Dr. Jerold (Jeanne) Russell, Matt (Robin) Russell, and Mark (Carol) Potratz. Conni was proceeded in death by her father and mother, Bernard and Lois Russell; her sister, Jacqueline Rae; father-in-law, Paul Potratz Jr.; and sister-in-law, Mary Ann Potratz.
Visiting hours will be held at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home in Fond du Lac on Friday, September 9, 2022 from 3:00 – 7:00 pm and again on Saturday from 10:00 – 11:00 am. She will be missed more than anyone can express in words or on paper. As a family we are heartbroken at this loss, especially the time dementia robbed from us. We would like to thank the staff at Frontida Memory Care and Hospice Home of Hope for their exceptional care and love. We are also truly grateful to Connie Jowett for all the extra love and care she provided on a routine basis as her personal caregiver. Also, thank you to all the countless others who visited, prayed and helped mom get through challenging days.
