Coral "Coke" A. Hankwitz, 89, of Fond du Lac, died Friday, June 24, 2011 at her residence. She was born May 16, 1922 in Brothertown, the daughter of James and Ruby Kindness Fowler. On February 27, 1946 she married Melvin "Bob" C. Hankwitz in Greensboro, NC and he preceded her in death on April 27, 1984. Coke was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church since childhood. She was a member of the Linettes of the Fond du Lac Senior Center and the Red Hat Honeys. Coke enjoyed sewing, crocheting, baking, dancing, playing poker and bingo, watching the Green Bay Packers, and playing the organ. SURVIVORS: two daughters, Linda (Mike) Lins, Wausau, Sharon (Joe) Helgert, Grand Rapids, MI; two sons, Steve (Joy) Hankwitz, Malone, David (Sandy) Hankwitz, Fond du Lac; four grandchildren, Lori, Scott, Dustin and Katie Hankwitz; a dear friend, Lucy Bond, Fond du Lac; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob; an infant sister, Verona Ruby; one brother, Merle Fowler.
VISITATION: will be from 4 "“ 8 PM on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again on Friday from 10 "“ 11 AM at church. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, July 1, 2001 at Covenant United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Morning officiating.
