Craig E. Martin

Craig E. Martin, 70, of Fond du Lac, died Thursday, August 22, 2013, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born October 5, 1942, in Milwaukee, the son of Lester and Annette Klauk Martin. On March 1, 1996, he married Karen M. Schenk in Fond du Lac at Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church. Craig was employed by Fond du Lac County for 32 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant, retiring in 1998. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, camping, and drinking Old Fashions and making people laugh. He was a past president, secretary, and treasurer of the local 1366A AFL-CIO union, and a member of the Van Dyne Sportsman's Club. Surviving is his wife, Karen, a step-daughter, Stephanie Schenk of Fond du Lac, a step-son, Joshua (Amanda) Schenk, also of Fond du Lac, and four grandchildren, Michael, McKayla, Aden, and Craig's Best Buddy, James Schenk. He is further survived by a brother, Roger (Judi) Martin of Boulder Junction, WI, and a sister, Pamela (Ira) Smerling of Van Dyne. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Vicki Martin.



Visitation for Craig E. Martin will be on Sunday, August 25, 2013, from 12 Noon to 2 PM at Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church, 606 Forest Avenue, Fond du Lac. Memorial services will be at 2 PM at the church on Sunday. The Rev. James Borgwardt will officiate. Cremation has taken place. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
