Dakota John Goldapske, 21, of Fond du Lac, died Wednesday, March 31, 2021 with his best friend by his side, Michael Gohde, due to a fishing accident. He was born on November 1, 1999, in Fond du Lac, the son of John and Barbara (Rabe) Goldapske. Dakota graduated from Horace Mann High School, North Fond du Lac, in 2018. He was a member of Luther Memorial Church, Fond du Lac, where he was baptized, confirmed, and went to school there until he was in high school. Dakota loved his son, Dartanian, and would do anything for him. He was full of light and a gentle soul. Dakota loved his motorcycle, hunting, fishing, and loved his animals. Dakota and Michael died together doing what they loved to do.
He is survived by his parents, John and Barbara Goldapske; son, Dartanian (mother, Samantha Giese); five brothers, Thomas John Mayer, Kaden (Hannah Kurtz) Goldapske, Hunter Goldapske, Caleb Goldapske, and Collin Frize; sister, Madysyn Goldapske; materal grandparents, Mark (Tina) Rabe and Jeanne (Jim Arthurs) Rabe; nine aunts, Amy (Scott) Beck, Holly (Jennifer Kindschi) Frize, Gail High, Donna Poepping, Susan Wollitz, Jackie (Michael) Schwersinske, Peggy (Michael) Meyer, Pamela (Andrew) Schmid, and Keli Winter; two uncles, Shane (Gail) Rabe and Ronald Goldapske; and many cousins, friends, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Elmer and Billie Jean Goldapske; two uncles, Wayne Poepping and Jack Wollitz; and cousin, Melanie Holmes.
The visitation will take place from 12:00 – 6:00 PM on Monday, April 5, 2021 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Cremation will occur after the service.
