Dale A. "Pops" Batterman

July 9, 1930 — October 28, 2009

Dale "Pops" A. Batterman, age 79, of W6876 Shadybrook Circle, Fond du Lac, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at Hospice Home of Hope. He was born on July 9, 1930 in Fond du Lac, the son of Charles and Minna (Arndt) Batterman. On September 27, 1952 he married Carol Jean Rose at St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac. They owned a farm in the Town of Byron from 1955 until they retired to Mt. Morris in 1996. In 2007 they returned to Fond du Lac to be closer to family. Dale enjoyed making people smile. He loved to hunt, fish, play cards, watch sports, and just hang out with family and friends. In his earlier years he enjoyed bowling, playing baseball, and working with animals at the fair. Dale was a member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church. Dale also worked for Midwest Livestock for thirty-two years.SURVIVORS: his wife Carol of Fond du Lac, two sons, Darrell (Barb) Batterman of Eden, Gary (Jane) Batterman of Fond du Lac, daughter, Judy (Gene) Zwicky of Lamartine, six grandchildren, Amy (Rob) Burkholder, David Batterman, Lisa (Mike) Hall, Sara Batterman (special friend Nick Dalton), Dawn (Nick) Blaylock, and Amanda Zwicky (special friend Kyle Kutcher), three great-grandchildren, Gavin and Bryson Hall, and Ema Burkholder, one brother, Wayne (Kaye) Batterman of Evans, GA, brother in law, Kenneth Rose, two step-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren, one step-great-great-grandchild, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Neil Batterman.



VISITATION: Tuesday, November 3, 2009 from 10:00 A.M. until 12 noon at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, 1010 Adams Ave, North Fond du Lac. FUNERAL: Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at 12 noon at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church with the Reverend Michael Kampman officiating. Cremation has taken place. The family is very grateful for the love and care shown to Dale by the staff at Hospice Home of Hope.In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice Home of Hope or to St. Paul's Ev.
