Dale A. Rockow

Dale A. Rockow, 80, of Fond du Lac was called home by his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born January 2, 1937 in Warren, PA, the son of Wilfred and Katherine Haehn Rockow. On November 10, 1962 he married Judith Westphal in Fond du Lac. Dale worked for Rockwell International in Oshkosh for 30 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, United Auto Workers, and was a foster parent for 35 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, shooting darts, was an avid Packer fan, and spend many hours volunteering. Dale especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a quiet soul, helping whenever someone needed it.



He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judith Rockow; his children, Dawn (Kurt) Brandenburg, Lisanne (Tony) Lechner, Stacey (Bob) Stellmacher, Kristiann Cusick, Kally Rockow, James Rockow, Dean (Barb) Rockow, and Tasha Rockow; 17 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Mary) Rockow of Oshkosh; two sisters-in-law, Marilyn (Jay) Furlong and Lynn (Gordy) Bump, all of Fond du Lac; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Fritz Rockow; daughter, Marquita Ploeger; great grandson, Charlie.



The visitation will be held from 9:00 – 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 1600 South Main Street, Fond du Lac. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Cremation has taken place and inurnment will be held at a later date in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park.



In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dale’s name are appreciated to St. Peter’s Church Radio Ministry or the Alzheimer’s Association.



The family extends a special thank you to the staff of ManorCare and Heartland Hospice for their care and compassion given to Dale and his family over the last weeks.
