Daniel Guell

Daniel Guell, 79, of North Fond du Lac, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025, at the Hospice Home of Hope.

Dan was born on December 10, 1945, in Fond du Lac to John “Jack” and Irene Guell. On July 11, 1980 he married Nancy J. Nelson in Fond du Lac.

A devoted family man and friend, Dan spent over 40 years at Mercury Marine in various roles and proudly served in the Army Reserves. He found joy in life’s simple moments—fishing, biking, sitting by a campfire while cooking chicken and enjoying an Old Fashioned, and cheering on his grandchildren at basketball games.

Dan is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; daughter, Sarah (Chad) Steenberg; and grandchildren, Grace and Reed. He is also survived by his siblings, Bill Guell, Betty Brumley, and Kate (Scott) Porter; in-laws, Sharon and Jim Smith, Jim and Anna Nelson, and Nancy Guell. Further surviving him are Daniel Guell (daughters Jennifer and Danielle), Jodi Schmoldt (children Erich, Bethany, and Jessica), and Doug (Renae) Guell (daughter Kylie); his beloved pets, Willow and Pepper; along with nieces, nephews, cousins, great-grandchildren, and many special friends.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Irene; father- and mother-in-law, Arnold and Kate Nelson; siblings, Jack and Diane Guell; and brother- and sisters-in-law, Linda Bonnell, Ed Brumley, and Janet Guell.

A visitation will be held at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home on Sunday, March 16, 2025 from 1:00 - 3:30 PM. Military honors will be conducted at 3:30 PM at the funeral home, followed by a gathering of family and friends at the Eagles Club to celebrate Dan’s life.
