Daniel Lee Mafredas

Daniel Lee Mafredas, 58 of 54 Cougar Court, died Saturday, February 4,2006 at Select Specialty Hospital, West Allis. He was born on June 7,1947 in Fond du Lac the son of Daniel and Lucy Van Gorder Mafredas. On July 10,1971 he married Sharon Loeffler at the Church of Peace. Daniel was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving Vietnam from 1965 to 1969 in Troops C & B. He received four Purple Hearts, belonged to the 25th Infantry Division Association, 3rd Squadron, 4th Cavalry Chapter (known as ¾ CAV Chapter), DAV Chapter, Fond du Lac. He was a life long member of the Church of Peace, United Church of Christ, and a former member of Fond du Lac Eagles Aerie No. 270. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, looking for lighthouses, waterfalls, camping, and woodworking. Daniel worked at Mercury Marine for 30 years until he took a disabled retirement in 1999.SURVIVORS: wife, Sharon Mafredas, of Fond du Lac, one son Daniel(Angela) Mafredas and their daughter Emily Rose of Lakeville, Minnesota, two sisters, and one brother, Bonnie (Harold) Kriz, of Oshkosh, Nancy (Tom) Procknow- Swiertz, of Wild Rose, Joe "James" (Carolyn) Mafredas, Oshkosh, sixteen nieces and nephews.. Daniel was preceded in death by his father, Daniel S. Mafredas, mother, Lucy MaFredas, brother Roger Mafredas, and sister, Patty Hoppa.



VISITATION: Wednesday, February 8,2006 from 4 to 8 P.M. at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. FUNERAL:Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 9,2006 at the Church of Peace, United Church of Christ. Reverend Virginia Pych will officiate. Burial will follow at Estabrooks Cemetery. Trier-Puddy American Legion Post No.75 will conduct military graveside services. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.Memorials appreciated to the Church of Peace Elevator Fund.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is serving the family.
