Daniel W. Schrank

Daniel W. Schrank, 76, of Fond du Lac, passed on to eternal life, Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Harbor Haven Health & Rehabilitation Center, after a courageous battle with dementia. He was born at home in the Town of Leroy on August 12, 1941, a son of Walter and Esther (Krueger) Schrank. On September 14, 1963, Daniel married Carol Kwiatkowski at Church of Peace in Fond du Lac. Daniel and Carol shared fifty years of marriage before her death on March 24, 2014. Together, they had three children, Lauri, Cheryl and Mark.



Daniel was first and foremost devoted to his family and friends. He had a passion for music which started at a young age. Daniel was one of the founding members of the local Rock ‘n’ Roll band, “The Dynamics”. In the band’s early years, they traveled throughout the country, playing in multiple states. The Dynamics later became known as “Pastyme” and “The Dynamics Review”. Daniels passion for music spanned more than a half century.



Daniel served in the U.S. Navy, enlisting at the age of 17. Prior to entering the insurance business, working in sales as well as management, Daniel worked for Oakfield Enterprises and Giddings & Lewis (G&L). He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and any activity that involved the outdoors.



Survivors include three children, Lauri Amrhein (fiancé Paul Rawlsky), Cheryl (Thomas) Langenhorst and Mark Schrank, all of Fond du Lac; five grandchildren, Jared (Alicia) Amrhein of Groton, CT, Erin (Jason) Mikulec of Round Lake, IL, Michael Langenhorst of Fond du Lac, and Justin and Jordan Schrank, both of Fond du Lac. Daniel is further survived by two brothers and seven sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Esther; his loving wife of fifty years, Carol; and one brother.



Visitation will be held Friday, April 13, 2018 from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jennifer C.M. Dawson officiating. Burial in Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery will follow the services. Military honors will be presented at the cemetery.

Daniel will be sadly missed by many. A special thank you to the staff of Touchstone Living Center, Harbor Haven and SSM/Agnesian Hospice Hope.
