Darvin P. Kedinger, 79, formerly of Fond du Lac, WI, died Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Perham Health Clinic in Dent, MN. He was born in Fond du Lac, WI on February 6, 1938 to John and Marie Kedinger. Darvin served in the Wisconsin Army National Guard and was on active duty during the Cuban Missile Crisis. On November 24, 1976, he married Sue Moss in Rogersville, WI. She preceded him in death on June 2, 1997.
Darvin enjoyed traveling and riding motorcycles. He loved music and in recent years had begun to play the guitar. He and his fiancé, Carol, enjoyed going to casinos as well as traveling the country in their RV. Darvin was a life-long learner, understood machinery and was good with his hands. He spent 30 years in manufacturing, with 25 of those years in the defense industry. In Fond du Lac, Darvin was a member of Elks Lodge #57 and Eagles Aerie 270, and St. Stephens Lutheran Church in Rogersville. After moving to Dent, he became a member of both Immanuel Lutheran Church and American Legion Post 148.
Survivors include his two children, Dan Kedinger and his daughter, Kourtni Kedinger, and Lynn Oosterhouse and her daughters, Kristi and Kari Shafer; a step-son, Todd (Mae) Strehlow and their children, Brittany and Ben Strehlow; a brother, Dean Kedinger; a sister-in-law, Jean Kedinger; four nieces, Kathryn, Anna, Theresa and Rachel; his first wife and the mother of his children, Judith (Raymond) Ballwanz; and his beloved dog, Chica. He was preceded in death by his parents; his second wife, Sue; his fiancé, Carol Meader; and his sons-in-law, Joe Shafer and Roger Oosterhouse.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. A funeral service will be held at 5:00 PM with military honors to follow. Cremation will follow the services with inurnment in Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Cemetery to be held at a later date.
