Daryl R. Kuenzi, 85, of Mount Calvary, was brought home by his angels on Friday, December 24, 2021. He was born on December 3, 1936, in Colgate, WI, the son of John and Elizabeth (Kroehler) Kuenzi. Daryl and his brother Ken spent their childhood growing up on a dairy farm in Colgate. The two brothers shared their passion for motorcycle riding. Daryl married Shirley Bartel on November 27, 1965, at Faith United Church of Christ, Slinger, WI. They started their journey together moving to Mount Calvary and purchasing a dairy farm and ran it for over 35 years. Daryl and Shirley expanded their family with two beautiful daughters, Deb and Diane.
After retiring from farming, Daryl enjoyed working part-time for Mark Mand Excavating, helping area farmers, and traveling the world with Shirley. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and belonged to the local Gold Wing motorcycle club. Daryl enjoyed working on and showing off his antique 1948 Farmall M tractor which he drove in the local parades. He was a member of the Tabor United Methodist Church, Empire Thresheree, and the State and National Holstein Association.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; two daughters, Debra Ohrmund of Lomira and Diane Kuenzi of Mount Calvary; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elizabeth; and brother, Ken (Beverly) Kuenzi.
The visitation will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021, from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Tabor United Methodist Church, N4224 Church Road, Eden, WI, 53019. Funeral service will take place at the church after the visitation at 11:00 AM with entombment to follow at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Cemetery, N6250 County Road K, Fond du Lac, WI, 54937.
Memorials may be directed in Daryl’s name to Tabor United Methodist Church and St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
