David F. Yelle, age 82, of Fond du Lac, died Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home. He was born on March 20, 1926 in Fond du Lac, the son of Telisphore and Mabel (Weinke) Yelle. On March 27, 1046 he married Ruth M. Slade in Indiana. She preceded him in death on January 2, 2008. David was a United States Marine, a veteran of World War II, and Iwo Jima campaign. He worked at the 101 Club, and him and his wife owned and operated Yelle's Restaurant and Catering. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.SURVIVORS: two sons, David L. (Venola) Yelle of Milwaukee, Stephen J. (Christine) Yelle of Sheboygan, daughter, Susan (Larry) Saunders of Fond du Lac, six grandchildren, Troy (Tracey) Saunders of Menasha, Tad (Katie) Saunders of Fond du Lac, Rebecca and Rachel Yelle of TN, Michelle (Jeremiah) Siebert of Sheboygan, Nicholas (Teri) Yelle of Sheboygan, five great-grandchildren, two brothers, Telle (Wanda) Yelle of MN, Mike (Janet) Yelle of GA, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, daughter Mary Ellen, and great grandson, Logan Saunders.
VISITATION: Saturday, August 8, 2009 from 9:15 A.M. until 10:15 A.M. at Holy Family Parish, Holy Family Church, 271 4th St. Way, Fond du Lac. FUNERAL: Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 10:15 A.M. at Holy Family Parish-Holy Family Church. Cremation has taken place. Trier-Puddy American Legion Post #75 will conduct military honors at the church.
