David L. Volbright

David L. Volbright, 66 of Cty. Rd. B, Oakfield, died unexpectedly Monday, March 17, 2008 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born the son of Harry and Fern Laning Volbright on September 17, 1941 in Fond du Lac. On October 31, 1964 he married Patricia M. Ryan at St. James Catholic Church, Oakfield. Dave was a graduate of Oakfield High School Class of 1959. Dave was a lifelong member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Oakfield. He farmed in the Oakfield and Brownsville area from 1959-1987. He also worked for Oakfield Elevator, Eden Farm Supply and Mobil Oil. From 1988-1998 he was owner/operator of Tolibia Cheese Corner Cheese Store, Fond du Lac. Dave was employed with Tolibia Cheese for 25 years and was currently employed with Sartori Foods as a Milk Procurement Manager. He was a member of the FDL Agri-Business Council, Twin Oaks Snowmobile Club, Oakfield Lions Club and a past member of the Oakfield Fire Department. He also was a 4-H Dairy Leader for many years. Dave was a huge fan of the Green Bay Packers and loved to talk about being at the coldest game ever. Dave had the gift of gab and loved to tell stories of growing up with six brothers and sisters. He also enjoyed tending to his fishpond, gardening and walking 5 miles a day. Dave was a generous man who would do anything to help. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. The loves of his life were his five grandchildren. SURVIVORS: his wife and best friend, Pat; one daughter, Kristine (Randy) Page; two sons, Kyle Volbright, Kory (Beth) Volbright, all of Oakfield; five grandchildren, Teddy Page, Alexis, Cole, Jaiden Volbright, Kaitlyn Volbright; an expected granddaughter in May; five siblings, Mary (Jim) Kuslits, Oakfield, Jayn (Mark) Narance, Byron, Dale (Chris) Volbright, Oakfield, Sandy (Dennis) Courture, Sun Prairie, Ann (Dennis) Weber, Fond du Lac; one sister-in-law, Janice Volbright, Byron; two brother-in-laws LeRoy (Mary) Bierne, Tom (Dulsie) Ryan, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his mother and father-in-law, Russell and Thelma Ryan; a brother, Bruce Volbright.



VISITATION: will be from 2 "“ 8 PM on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and from 9 "“ 11 AM on Thursday at church. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Oakfield with Rev. Robert Bitter officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Center Cemetery.A memorial has been established in Dave's name. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
