David Robert “Bob” Hass, age 84, of Fond du Lac, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2017. He was born on February 17, 1933 in the Town of Empire, the son of Clarence and Margaret (Costello) Hass, the youngest of eight children. He attended schools in Fond du Lac and took over running the homestead farm at fourteen years old.
On November 5, 1955 he married Mary Krebs in North Fond du Lac at Presentation Church and they worked the farm until Bob went to work at Mercury Marine and then Giddings & Lewis until retiring on August 1, 1995.
Surviving are his wife Mary of sixty-one years; three children, Charlene “Charie” (Steve) Barry, Dr. Lawrence (Dr. Margie) Hass, Andrew (Sherry Ryan) Hass; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Leota Hass and Leona Hass; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, Lori and Julie; one grandson, Tyler; one great-grandson, Malik; brothers, Herbert, George, Gordon, and Leonard; sisters, Agnes Murphy, Mary Immel, and Gertrude Hartman.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 2-5 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, September 18, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 200 S. Peters Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54395. Visitation will take place on Monday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
