Delbert Carlton Shea

Delbert C. Shea, 92 of Fond du Lac died Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born in Fond du Lac on September 1, 1920 the son of John and Ida Krause Shea. He married Marion Klein in Fond du Lac in 1951 and raised two sons. Delbert worked as a sausage maker learning the trade as a teenager while working during the summers for his brother-in-law Otto in Antigo, Wisconsin. Later he worked at Oshkosh Sausage Company for his Uncle Emil. He also worked at Krambo, Kroger and Kewaskum Frozen Foods. His sausage recipes received national awards. He also enjoyed repairing Linker machines for area sausage companies. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the 6th Army in the Southwest Pacific. He was a member of Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church. He was a loving and caring husband and father. He enjoyed maintaining and remodeling the family home. Delbert enjoyed hunting pheasant and deer. In recent years he enjoyed friendships with the neighbors and spending Sunday mornings with the McDonald's Gang. He would frequently be spotted wearing his signature orange cap at Schreiner's where he enjoyed conversing with the friendly staff.SURVIVORS: two sons, John Shea and Gary (Steve Rassel) Shea, two grandsons, numerous nieces and nephews including a special nephew Howard of San Diego. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marion on March 2, 1997, sisters, Margaret (George) Schallog, Ella (Otto) Knop, Marcella (Maury) Tebo, brothers, Leo (Vi) Shea, Lester (Edna) Shea and nieces and nephews.



VISITATION: The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 24, 2013 from 1PM to 3PM at Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church, 20 Wisconsin American Drive, Fond du Lac. FUNERAL:Memorial services will be held on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at 3 PM at Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church with Reverend Shari Routh officiating.
