Della R. Gendron

Della R. Gendron, 97, formerly of 791 Security Drive and a resident of the St. Francis Home for the past six years, joined Harvey on Thursday evening, June 14, 2007. She was born November 6, 1909, in Gladstone, MI, the daughter of Charles and Rosalina Rahkonen Mattson. On November 6, 1929, she married Harvey Gendron in Escanaba, MI. He preceded her in death on June 3, 2007. Della and Harvey were married for 77 wonderful years. They were the proud parents of four beautiful children, who blessed them with 12 precious grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. Della and Harvey retired to North Fond du Lac. She was a member of Presentation Church She is survived by her sons, James (Nadine) Gendron and Thomas (Jill) Gendron, both of Fond du Lac, her daughter, Joan (William) Slate of Markesan; 11 grandchildren, Anne, Jeff, Joe, Bob, Cheryl, Rich, Sue, Rose, John, Mark, and Tracy; 20 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Her parents, husband, her son, Jackie, her grandson, William "Butch" Slate, her great-grandson, Samuel Joseph Bahn, her nephew, Walt Wilson, four sisters; Hilda Wilson, Ruth Mattson, Olga Stoga, and Hilja Mattson, and two brothers, Julius Mattson and Elmer Mattson.



Visitation for Mrs. Della R. Gendron will be on Monday, June 18, 2007, from 12:30 to 2 pm at St. Francis Chapel, 33 Everett Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 pm at the chapel. The Rev. Dennis Van Beek will officiate and entombment will be in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, Della would love to see donations directed to the St. Francis Employee Appreciation Fund.
