Delores F. Schmitz

Delores F. Schmitz, age 84, of Fond du Lac, died Thursday, May 21, 2015 at The Hospice Home of Hope. She was born on May 4, 1931 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Henry and Florence (Williams) Foertsch. On January 12, 1952 she married John A. Schmitz in Fond du Lac. He preceded her in death on October 15, 2005. Delores was a member of Presentation Church in North Fond du Lac. She enjoyed knitting, serious rummaging, bowling, crossword puzzles, and was an avid cribbage player. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.



SURVIVORS: Three sons, Michael Schmitz of Fond du Lac, Donald (Sue) Schmitz of Fond du Lac, Robert Schmitz (friend Annette Miller) of Waupun; six grandchildren, Ann (Tim) Guy of Crofton, MD, Laura Schmitz (fiancé Jeff Weber) of Pipe, Julie Schmitz (friend Ryan Freund) of St. Peter, Ethan Schmitz of Fond du Lac, Sawyer Schmitz and Dylan Schmitz of Waupun; and two great-granddaughters Brynn and Makenna Schmitz-Guy. Also survived by Kenny and MaryAnn Foertsch and Erwin and Jean Foertsch; two sisters in law, Monica Schmitz and Virginia Kraus; many nieces and nephews; special God-daughter Deb Demmitt. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband John Schmitz; and brothers and sisters in law.



A private family service will be held at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park with the Rev. Joseph Dominic officiating. Entombment will follow at the Mausoleum.
