Denis J. Strnad

Denis J. Strnad, age 89, of Fond du Lac, died Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at his residence. He was born on September 5, 1934, Chicago, IL, the son of William and Josephine (Valvoda) Strnad. On August 25, 1956, he married Mary Jane Meichus in Reedsburg, WI. Denis earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse and went on to earn his master’s degree in education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He was an educator in Cedarburg for over thirty years. He loved music, singing Elvis and also played in a band. Denis was a fun loving and doting husband, father, and grandfather and loved spending time with his family. 

Survivors include his loving wife, Mary Jane; his children, Denis (Gloria) Strnad, Scott Strnad, Sandy (John) Schneider, Shelly (Neal) Theisen; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; cousin, Mary Ellen Fitzgibbons; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter-in-law, Kristine; his twin sister, Joanne; his brother, William Strnad Jr.

Visitation will take place on Monday, May 20, 2024, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow the visitation at the funeral home at 2:00 PM. Cremation has taken place. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to your local Boys and Girls Club.
