Neshkoro, WI. formerly Fond du Lac, WIDenise Linda Brockway (Reseburg), age 80, passed away peacefully at HospiceCare Madison surrounded by her family.She was born in Fond du Lac at home on August 18, 1930 the daughter of William and Linda Manz Reseburg and attended Goodrich High School. Denise was united in marriage to Roger Brockway on September 1, 1951 and together they brought four children into the world; Coleen (Mike) Rudolph (Janesville), Sandy (Ron) Henshue (Madison), Wayne Brockway and Traci Brockway - both of Fond du Lac.Denise worked for many years at Wells Manufacturing, Kresge Company and ended her working career at Schreiner's Restaurant all while raising her four children and tending to their home. Upon retirement she and her husband built their home in Neshkoro where they lived for the past 22 years. During those years she was a member of the Neshkoro VFW Auxiliary, traveled extensively - including trips with each of her grandchildren, kept the local songbirds and squirrels well fed, grew apples and baked the best apple pies in the county.Denise was a selfless person, focusing her energy and resources on other's happiness. She will be remembered as a strong and loving wife, devoted and caring mother, adoring grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her. Her strong German heritage made her 'tough as whale bones' and she never complained through the 53 long months of enduring chemo treatment since, according to Denise, she was always 'just fine'.Denise is survived by her husband and four children along with grandchildren: Brittany, Kristina, Ashley (married to Edward Rodenkirch), Erica, Luke, and Brock, step grandchildren: Katie and Kyle and newest grandson, William Joseph, born November 18th. Also surviving are siblings Athniel "Tony", Anita, and Norman (Maxine). Her parents, two brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
Visitation: Thursday, December 9, 2010, from 4 to 8 PM and again on Friday from 10 to 11 AM at Uecker Witt Funeral Home in Fond du Lac, 524 North Park Avenue. Funeral Services: Friday, December 10th at 11:00 AM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Rev. Phil Haslanger will officiate and entombment will be in the Veteran's Garden of Honor, Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery.'Say not in grief that she is no more but say in thankfulness that she was. A death is not the extinguishing of the light, but the putting out of the lamp because the dawn has come.''Our mom is an unending song of love and understanding.
