Derek N. Schraufnagel

Derek N. Schraufnagel, age 31, of Milwaukee was taken from his family and friends too soon on May 6, 2010. Derek attended Laconia High School in Rosendale where he participated in wrestling. He continued to carry on his passion for wrestling in his children. Derek was a talented builder of projects, big and small, whether constructed of metal, wood, or concrete. Examples of his steel erection expertise can be seen throughout the Midwest. He grew up a small town farm boy and his enthusiasm for agriculture evolved into construction. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Menomonee Falls, WI. His true loves though, were his children and family. Derek lived with his fiancée, Christina Andrzejewski and Christina's daughters Nymira and Victoria. He treasured his three children, Dakota, Nickolas, and Nena Schraufnagel. He will be dearly missed by members of his immediate family who include his father, Keith Schraufnagel and Keith's fiancée, Linda Schaefer of Lomira, his mother and stepfather, Patty and Tom Cihowiak of Neenah, his brother, Jason Schraufnagel of Maui, HI, his sister, Melissa (Paul) Warner of Madison, his sister, Amanda (Douglas) Baneck of Winneconne, his brother, Travis Schraufnagel of Maui, HI, and sister, Stephanie Schraufnagel of Oshkosh. In addition, Derek has two stepsiblings, Amy (Brett) Stoffel of Edmonds, WA, and Ryan (Karen) Cihowiak of Delray Beach, FL. Nieces and nephews include Adrian, Ian, Ani, and Diesel Schraufnagel, and Mackenzie and Addison Baneck. His grandmothers, Eva Ennis and Margaret Schraufnagel, both of Fond du Lac, also survive Derek. His extended family includes numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. These families are the Seffren family, the Dux family, the Groth family, and the Schraven family. His grandfathers, Pat Ennis and Norbert Schraufnagel, preceded Derek in death.



Visitation for Derek N. Schraufnagel will be on Monday, May 10, 2010, from 4 to 8 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, and on Tuesday, May 11th from 9:30 to 10:30 am at St. John's Church of Nekimi, 491 Old Oregon Road, Oshkosh. Funeral services will be on Tuesday at 10:30 am at the church. The Rev. Tabitha Gallatin will officiate and cremation will follow the services. A private inurnment will be held at a later date.
