Dianne M. Wagner, 66, of N8644 Lakeshore Drive, Town of Friendship, died Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at her residence, after a yearlong courageous battle with lung disease. She was born June 22, 1940, in New Richland, MN. the daughter of Lester and Everine Watzek Dunette. The family moved to Richmond, CA when Dianne was a little girl. In her high school years at Holy Names Catholic School, she met her true love, her soul mate, Bill Wagner, who was serving his country in the US Army. On August 22, 1959, Bill and Dianne married in Richmond California. She made the move to the Van Dyne area, where they lived all of their married years. Dianne was a member of Presentation Church in North Fond du Lac. She was employed at Combined Insurance Company from September of 1959 until they closed their doors in March of 1983. She won numerous awards in the insurance industry during her 23-½ years of tenure there. Dianne next went to the City of Appleton where she worked until her retirement in December of 2005 as the Main Frame System Adminstrator in the Technology Services Department. She was also the tax assessor for the Towns of Friendship and Black Wolf for many years. Dianne also served on the Board of Directors of the Fond du Lac Credit Union. Spending time with family, shopping, and music were great joys in her life. She enjoyed the country life where ducks swam in the creek and deer roamed the back yard. She especially loved the family cat, Abe. Surviving is a son, Greg and his wife, Connie, of England, two daughters: Missi Etheridge of the Town of Friendship, and Mandy Tynan and her husband, Jerry, of North Fond du Lac, 12 grandchildren, Cathy Riedel and her husband, John, and G.J. Wagner, all of Navarre, FL, Bethany Etheridge and her fiancé', Arthur Schueller, of Madison, Julia, Cassie, and Hunter Etheridge of the Town of Friendship, Tony Tynan, Billy Tynan and his special friend, Katie Schultz, Joey Tynan and his special friend, Hannah Albertz, and Stephen, Becky, and Benny Tynan, all of North Fond du Lac, and four great-grandchildren, Jadalynn and John John Riedel, and Jasmine and Ellie Tynan. Further surviving is a sister, Judy Gould and her husband, Gary, of Pinole, CA, six brother and sisters-in-laws, Mary Lavrenz of Mayville, Chuck and Kathy Wagner of the Town of Fond du Lac, Alice Rasmussen of Pickett, WI, Pete and Patti Wagner of Prescott, AZ, Dan and Anne Wagner of Van Dyne, and Sue and Bob McCredie of Omro, an aunt, Della Schmidtke, of Waterville, MN, and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and many "adopted" grandchildren. Her parents, husband, mother-in-law, Millie Wagner, and brother-in-law, Bud Wagner, preceded her in death.
Visitation for Mrs. Dianne Wagner will be on Wednesday, April 11, 2007, from 4 to 8 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Thursday, April 12, 2007, with family prayers at 10 am at the funeral home, and Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at Church of The Presentation in North Fond du Lac. The Rev. John Simon will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Dianne's name.
