Dilys Ceinwen Henderson

Dilys Ceinwen (Roberts) Henderson, 68, of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, went home to God Our Father and her heavenly family on Wednesday, April 4, 2007. She died unexpectedly after a brief illness at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Dilys was born May 12, 1938, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, the youngest daughter and child of the late Arthur I. and H. Ceinwen (Jones) Roberts. She graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1956, and recently enjoyed celebrating her 50th year high school reunion. On February 11, 1961, she married Arthur Henderson in Beaver Dam.Dilys made and maintained lifelong friendships from her birth in Beaver Dam to residences and employment in Madison, Oshkosh, Appleton, Wisconsin Rapids and Fond du Lac. She worked at Wood County National Bank and Trust in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin prior to her retirement in 2001. She enjoyed living and spending time with her family at her home on Lake Sherwood near the Town of Rome for 20 years prior to her relocation to Fond du Lac, Wisconsin in 2004. Dilys' life was devoted to loving and caring for her children and grandchildren. Nain (Welsh for grandmother), as her five grandchildren affectionately knew her, was always nearby with her trademark smile, twinkling eyes and outstretched arms. Around her bedside when the end was near, we realized that there was little to say because it had always been said.Dilys was a life-long avid Green Bay Packer fan and shareholder even through the lean years. She was heard to say that she bet with her heart, not her logic. She enjoyed trips to Arizona, long walks, swimming, Welsh songfests, family reunions and time with her family and friends. Dilys was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.Dilys is survived by her children: Diana (Gregory) Van Rybroek of Madison and their children, Dirk, Anneke and Marieke. Gregory (Susan) Henderson of Fond du Lac and their children, Hannah and Evan. Daniel Henderson of Oshkosh. She is further survived by her brother, Paul Roberts of Green Bay; brother Gordon (Shirley) Roberts of Beaver Dam; sister Shirley (Arnold) Peterson of Florida. She is also survived by her former husband, Art Henderson of Red Granite; her mother-in-law Helen Henderson, AZ; sister-in-laws Christine (Steve) Judd, AZ, Florence (Martin) Kloser, CA Theresa Roberts, Madison, Patricia Roberts, UT; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Gwen (Bob) Breitweg three brothers, Kenneth, Howell and Allan.



Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 11 AM at Holy Family Parish-St Mary's in Fond du Lac with Rev. Vic Capriolo officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Beaver Dam.Visitation: Friends and family may visit from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home in Fond du Lac and again on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 from 9:30 "“ 11:00 am at Holy Family Parish - St Mary's in Fond du Lac.Memorial funds will be established for the Peniel Welsh Church in Oshkosh, Wisconsin and the American Cancer Society for breast cancer research.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home in Fond du Lac (920-922-5110) is assisting with arrangements.
