Dolores Ann “Ma” nee: Ottman Becker, 81, of Eldorado passed away peacefully from a stroke on January 11, 2015, while under the loving care of her family and special friend, Teri Smith. Dolores was the 3rd of 10 children born on August 19th, 1933 to Clinton and Florence (Yagler) Ottman. She was raised in the Berlin area. On December 2nd 1950, she married Donald E. Becker of Berlin and together they had shared their lives “Until death do us part.” Prior to moving to Eldorado, the Becker family lived in Sheboygan Falls. Together they have been extremely involved in the area since they moved to Eldorado in 1967. They have grown their own family tree that consists of eight children, 19 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
She had been a dedicated member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Eldorado and the Ladies Aid group, as well as Eldorado Fire Department -Ladies Auxiliary, in which she was named an “Honorary Fireman” in the 1970's. She served as chairperson of the brat stand for the fireman's picnic for 18 years. In 1968, Don and Dolores owned and operated a small grocery store named Becker's Superette in Eldorado for 9 years. During those years, she drove a school bus for the Rosendale-Brandon School District, and was a big enthusiast of the baseball and wrestling teams. She drove for Lapers Garage of Fairwater for 31 years until retiring in 1998. In 2003, Dolores and Don were honored as Parade Marshals in tribute to their dedication as upstanding members of the community. In 2008, Dolores was awarded the Rosendale VFW Citizen Citation Award. Since the inception of Eldorado Trailer Sales in 1986, she had helped her son Charlie with his business as Parts Manager. Dolores continued to generously support many charities and regularly volunteered hours to the Lions Club, Eldorado Community Historical Organization, and Crashin' for the Cause. She was the ultimate "People Person!" Dolores always passionately believed that "families are forever" and "a friend in need is a friend indeed!" She has befriended many! Immediately moving to Eldorado, she fondly became known as "Ma Becker" and later "Grandma Becker" to the young and old alike. This is a title she was very proud of. Now, with yet another generation, she has been tagged as "Grandma Great" and Great she was!
