Dolores M. Corbett, 91, formerly of 1062 Fourth Street, died Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at the St. Francis Home. Dolores was born on a cold blizzard day on January 22, 1923, in Fond du Lac, a daughter of Leo and Bertha Marcoe. Dolores was the oldest of three children. She graduated from St. Mary’s Spring Academy in 1941. She attended a community college and earned a technical degree in bookkeeping. On February 20, 1943 she married John P. Corbett at St. Joseph’s Church after a seven month long courtship. Dolores was an active member of the St. Joseph’s Church Holy Family Community from the time she was born. She found great comfort in her faith. She was formerly employed as a bookkeeper for a financial company, and Dolores also worked at Wells Manufacturing for 21 years. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, quilting and selling her items at craft shows. She was a member of the American Legion for 89 years.
Survivors include her son, William (Claire) Corbett of Florida; a daughter Kathleen Corbett of Fond du Lac; Two sisters-in-law, Jacqueline Marcoe of California and Betty Corbett of North Fond du Lac; four grandchildren; Gregory (special friend Stephanie) Reffke of Texas, Timothy Corbett of Oakfield, Christine (Mark) Koenig of Fond du Lac, and Thomas (Love) Laub of Neshkoro. 2 step grandchildren; Ben (Audra) Eggum of Pine River and Brad (Jamie) Eggum of Wautoma; 8 great grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband John P. Corbett (Oct. 2000), mother Bertha (Supple) Marcoe (December 1978), father Leo Marcoe (December 1974), mother and farther-in law John W. and Anna Corbett, brother James Marcoe (April 2000), and brother Roy Marcoe (December 2003), sister-in-law Grace Marcoe (December 2013), sister-in-law Dorothy Corbett (March 2002), brother-in-law Russell Corbett (September 2003), and Robert Corbett (January 1985).
The family would like to express how grateful they are for the loving care that Dolores received from Nicole Geschke, St. Francis Home, Agnesian Hospice and Agnesian Day Care.
FUNERAL INFORMATION
A visitation for Dolores will be held on Friday, June 6, 2014 from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac and again on Saturday morning, June 7 from 9:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church, 678 Western Ave. in Fond du Lac. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 A.M. Entombment will follow the mass at the Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery.
