Donald A. Thurk

Donald A. Thurk, 74, of Fond du Lac, died Wednesday, September 22, 2010, at Manor Care Health Services, where he had been a resident for the past 2-½ years. He was born on December 31, 1935, in Eldorado, the son of Alphonse W. and Agnes B. Sullivan Thurk. On May 30, 1987, he married Mary R. (Ziegler)Pelletierr at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Donald was a road superintendent for the Township of Fond du Lac for over 15 years, retiring in 2001. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard, serving from 1952-1962. He was a member of Holy Family-Sacred Heart Parish and the Red Arrow Club. He enjoyed family and playing sheepshead. SURVIVORS: include his wife, Mary R. Thurk, Fond du Lac; three sons; Gregory (Kelsey) Thurk, Grand Blanc, MI; Terry (Ann) Thurk, Oshkosh; Gordon Thurk, Janesville: one daughter; Doneen (Jerry) Hansen, Winneconne; four step-sons; Robert (Lisa) Pelletier, Sun Prairie; James (Mary Ann) Pelletier, Fond du Lac; Gary (Melanie) Pelletier, Sun Prairie; Brian (Lisa) Pelletier, Verona; five grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, his mother, Agnes B. Thurk, Fond du Lac; two brothers, Ralph (Diane) Thurk, North Fond du Lac; Robert (Stephanie) Thurk, Fond du Lac; four sisters; Lorraine (Jerry) Wheeler, Appleton; Mary (Pat) O'Brien, Eden; Betty (Joe) Babler, Fond du Lac; and Joan Perry, Lamartine. He was preceded in death by his father, granddaughter, Amanda Thurk, and a daughter-in-law, Debbie Thurk.



VISITATION: Friends may call on Saturday, September 25, 2010, at Holy Family Parish-Sacred Heart Church, from 8:30-10:00 AM. FUNERAL: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Saturday, 25, 2010, at Holy Family Parish-Sacred Heart Church. Rev. Victor Capriolo will officiate.
