Donald C. Christie

Donald C. Christie, 90, of Fond du Lac, died Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Hospice Home of Hope. He was born the son of David and Ida Linde Christie on May 25, 1919 in Fond du Lac. On August 3, 1946 he married Bettie J. Wendt at Salem United Methodist Church, Fond du Lac and she preceded him in death on June 23, 2001. Donald was a member of Church of Peace, Fond du Lac. He worked for Mercury Marine for 38 years retiring in 1985. He was a member of Mercury Marine Retirees Club, Fond du Lac Evening Optimist, and Eagles Aerie 270. Donald enjoyed gardening, traveling, reading, wood working, being a handyman, and especially loved spending time with his family.SURVIVORS: five children, Stephen Christie, Fond du Lac, Susan (Arnie) Roloff, North Fond du Lac, Barbara (Ronald) Spies, Fond du Lac, John (Corliss) Christie, North Fond du Lac, Elizabeth (Matthew) Koechel, Fond du Lac; thirteen grandchildren, Stacie Christie, Julie (Andy) Ernst, Peter (Kelly) Roloff, Mark (Alivia) Roloff, Andrew (Angie) Roloff, Thomas Roloff, Erik (Michelle) Spies, Adam (Tracy) Spies, Bryan Christie, Jamie Christie, Kyle Christie, Emily Koechel, Hannah Koechel; eleven great grandchildren, Ava and Karson Ernst, Zachary, Katelyn, Megan, Averi, Carter, and Parker Roloff, Landon, Ella and Blake Spies; one sister-in-law, Rosemary Christie, Fond du Lac; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bettie; one sister and three brothers.



VISITATION: will be held from 4 "“ 8 PM on Friday, July 10, 2009 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again on Saturday from 10 "“ 11 AM at church. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at Church of Peace with Rev. James F. D. Martin and Rev. Jennifer C. M. Dawson officiating. Burial will follow in Estabrooks Cemetery.Memorials are appreciated to Hospice Home of Hope or Church of Peace.
