Donald D. Waterman, age 75, of 15 Glenwood Ct, Fond du Lac, died Friday, June 24, 2005 at his residence. He was born on October 21, 1929 in Appleton the son of Lewis and Ella Strey Waterman. Don was a graduate from Berlin High School in 1947. On June 12, 1954 he married Ruth Werch at Grace Lutheran Church in Berlin. From 1947 to 1954 he worked as a cheese maker, except from 1951-1953 when he served in the United States Army-eighteen months of this time was spent in Japan. From September 1955 to June 1959 he attended Stevens Point State College. During the summers he worked delivered beer for Point Brewery and he graduated with a B.S. Degree in Secondary Education. In July of 1960 Don went to work for the Social Security Administration as a Claims Representative. After a year in Chicago he transferred to Fond du Lac where he worked until retiring in July 1985. He was a former Mason and a Shriner. He enjoyed playing the organ.
SURVIVORS: his wife, Ruth of Fond du Lac, one daughter Julie (Mark) Buser and their children Makena and Jordan of West Linn, OR, two brothers, Robert (Barbara) Waterman of Berlin, and the Reverend Gordon (Arlene) Waterman Tomball, TX, two sisters in law, Lorraine Wood of Berlin, and Sandra Werch of Berlin, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his in laws, Julius and Amanda Werch, brothers in law, Alden Werch and E.T. Wood.There will be no visitation or services. Cremation will take place. Inurnment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Berlin at a later date.Life was a wonderful journey for Don. He made his final transition home to God on June 24. A life well lived is rooted deeply and grows in memory in our hearts.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is serving the family.
