Donald J. Fox, 81, of Fond du Lac, died Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at Columbia St. Mary's Hospital in Milwaukee. He was born April 12, 1930, in Fond du Lac, the son of William J. and Lillian G. O'Laughlin Fox. From 1950 to 1954, Mr. Fox served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Arts and Letters, and later his Master Degree, from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He was formerly employed by the City of Milwaukee as a Librarian from 1960 until his retirement in 1995. Donald loved music, especially classical and opera, photography (he was the family photographer), studied geography and his family's history, and was an avid reader. He was a member of Holy Family Parish. Surviving is his sister, Lillian Fox of Fond du Lac, a niece, Julia E. Breister of Fond du Lac, three nephews, Peter W. Fox and Steven P. Fox, both of Fond du Lac, and Robert J. Fox of Minneapolis, two great-nieces, Patricia M. Breister and Elizabeth A. Breister, both of Fond du Lac, a great-nephew, Richard (Nellie) Breister of Fond du Lac, a great-grand niece, Peyton M. Breister of Fond du Lac, and other relatives and friends. His parents, and a brother, William Leo (Patricia) Fox, preceded him in death.
Visitation for Donald J. Fox will be on Monday, November 21, 2011, from 12:30 to 1:30 PM at Sacred Heart Church, 678 Western Avenue, Fond du Lac. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 PM at the church on Monday. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Additional information and guest book may be found at www.ueckerwitt.com
