Donald J. Lynch

Donald J. Lynch, 82 of Fond du Lac, died Friday, September 14, 2007 of cancer at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home on his 82nd birthday. Don was born on September 14, 1925 in Decorah, Iowa, the son of A.C. and Lora Lynch. He attended Decorah Public Schools and graduated from Decorah High School in 1943.He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in the Naval Air Corps from 1943-1945. Don attended the University of Iowa graduating with a B.S. degree in chemical engineering. After briefly working for Ohio Chemical and A/C Delco, Don was employed by Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac for 35 years retiring in 1989. On August 24,1949 he married Norma Ellingson at Big Canoe Lutheran Church in Decorah, Iowa. Don was a member of Church of Our Saviour Evangelical Lutheran, serving on the church council, usher and played in the church dart ball league. He was also a member of the Merc Quarter Century Club and the Mercury Marine Men's Golf League. Don thoroughly enjoyed his family, woodworking, woodcarving, baseball, golf, and was an excellent all-around handy man and problem solver. Don, along with his quick wit and dry sense oh humor, will be greatly missed by his family. SURVIVORS: Don is survived by his wife of 58 years, Norma, two children, Dan (Patty) Lynch and Jeannie (Dave) Domenget, sister-in-laws, Sylvia Lynch, and Beatrice Iverson, Florence Lynch and a brother-in-law, Vernon (Sandy) Ellingson and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Bob and Tom.



VISITATION: Tuesday, September 18, 2007 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Church of Our Saviour Evangelical Lutheran. FUNERAL: Funeral services will be held at Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at 1:00 P.M.Church of Our Saviour Evangelical Lutheran. Reverend Robert Rosenberg will officiate. Cremation will follow the traditional services with inurnment at Estabrooks Cemetery."The family would like to thank Dr. Joel Lundberg and the staff at Central Wisconsin Cancer Program as well as the staff of Hospice Hope and the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home."
