Donald L. Landfair, 83, of 871 S. Main Street, died Monday, October 24, 2011, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born March 26, 1928, in Eaton Rapids, Michigan, the son of Ethan A. and Clara M. Prouter Landfair. Don served in the U.S. Marine Corps from December 1, 1955 to May 31, 1971. He was the recipient of the WW II Victory Medal, National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, Meritorious Mast, Vietnam Service Medal with four stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal with device, Combat Action Ribbon, and the Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry. On July 28, 1983, he married Margaret A. Smith in Forysth, Missouri. Don enjoyed golf, bowling, and riding motorcycles. He served for eight years as a Deputy Coroner for Fond du Lac County. Surviving is his wife, Margaret, two sons, John (Jolene) Landfair of Hutchinson, MN, and Gary Shea of Temple, Texas, three daughters, Terry (Wayne) Gaylord of McHenry, IL, Kim (Bill) Perry of Jacksonville, Florida, and Debby Shea of Fond du Lac, six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. His parents, three brothers, Earl, Glenn, and Vincent Landfair, and a sister, Flora Weaver, preceded him in death.
