Donald L. Otto

Donald L. Otto, 68, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2013, at the Hospice Home of Hope. He was born in Racine, May 6, 1945, the son of Alice Helke Otto. October 14, 1972, he married his beloved wife, Judy Abitz, at the Church of Peace. She preceded him in death in 1994. Don graduated from Alexander High School in Nekoosa, WI in 1963. He was employed at Sadoff Iron & Metal for 32 years before retiring because of health reasons. He loved his electronics. His hobbies were tropical fish, amateur radio, and his car stereo competition for which he won a trophy. Survivors include his sons, Paul Otto and James Abitz, both of Fond du Lac. He is also survived by his brother and sisters-in-law, Lester (Charlene) Abitz, Jr. of Fond du Lac, Ronnie (Christine) Abitz of Fond du Lac, Mary (Gary) Dickie of Fond du Lac, and Donna (Jeff) Spanbauer of Fond du Lac, and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. His mother, Alice Otto, wife, Judy, father and mother-in-law, Lester ( Marion) Abitz, Sr., and a brother-in-law, Daniel Abitz, Sr. preceded him in death. He will be greatly missed and have a special place in people's hearts.



Visitation for Donald L. Otto will be on Tuesday, August 27, 2013, from 2 to 4 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Memorial services will be at 4 PM at the funeral home on Sunday. Rev. Gerald Schrankler will officiate. Cremation has taken place and inurnment of cremated remains will be in Estabrooks Cemetery at a later date.
