Donald W. White

Donald W. White, age 88, of Fond du Lac, died Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Hospice Home of Hope. He was born on September 5, 1927 in Decatur, IL the son of Hiram and Augusta (Lengsfeld) White. On August 7, 1948 he married Jean Mary Randall at St. Joseph’s Church in Fond du Lac. She preceded him in death on June 30, 1993. Don served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. He worked at JC Penney, at Giddings and Lewis in the purchasing department, Stoelting in Kiel as a sales manager, and then started his own business Phoenix-Erin selling industrial parts and machine tools. Don’s biggest love was traveling the world, everything from going on a safari, to going to China, or going to Europe. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council #664.



SURVIVORS: four children, Thomas (Margaret) White of Argyle, WI, Peter (Mary Pat) White of Springfield, VA, John White of Appleton, Kevin (Linda) White of Elkhart Lake; two grandchildren, Bridget White and Joseph Moran-White; special friend and traveling companion Joyce Scheer of Fond du Lac; sisters in law, Arlene White of Southern California and Mary White of Fond du Lac; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; infant daughter Mary Bridget; three brothers, Edward (Irene), Alfred, and Raymond.



VISITATION: Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 9:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church-Holy Family, 200 S. Peters Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. A mass will follow the visitation at church. Donald donated his body to the University of Wisconsin-Madison Medical College.



In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Agnesian Hospice Hope or St. Vincent de Paul.
