Donna M. Boelk, 92, of Oakfield, died Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at St. Francis Home. She was born July 27, 1931 in Oakfield, the daughter of Emil and Minnie (Burleton) Dethardt. She graduated from Oakfield High School. On August 13, 1950 she married Duane E. Boelk at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Oakfield. Duane preceded her in death on November 12, 2002.
After graduation Donna worked for Hutter Construction and sold Avon until working for the family farm. She was very particular with the books for the business. Donna was active in the Oakfield Ledge Preservation and was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, machine embroidery, and loved her cats.
She is survived by her three sons, Darwin (LeeAnn) Boelk, Lonnie (Cindy) Boelk, and Kevin (Annette) Boelk; grandchildren, Shane (Jenny) Boelk, Kamryn (Jesse) Meyer, Tristan (Kyle) Lefeber, McKenna Boelk, Heidi Boelk, Heather (Sam) Seymour, and Mitchell Boelk; great grandchildren, Anthony Boelk, Hanna Boelk, Hailey Boelk, Taryn Lefeber, Makaylee Lefeber, Brezlyn Lefeber, Kyler Boelk, Silas Seymour, Sadie Seymour on the way, Brynlee Meyer, and Emmi Meyer. She is further survived by two brothers-in-law, Lowell (Sally) Boelk and Robert (Donna) Boelk; two sisters-in-law, Dianne (Kenneth) Arndt and Lorna Boelk; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; father and mother-in-law, Erwin and Elma Boelk; her husband, Duane; sister, Arlene (John) Klingbeil; brother-in-law, Eugene Boelk; and sister-in-law, Charlene Fenrich.
The visitation will be held Saturday, December 23, 2023 from 9:30 – 11:30 AM at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 245 S. Second Street in Oakfield. The funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday at church. Burial will follow in Avoca Cemetery.
The family extends a special thank you to Visiting Angels, the staff of St. Agnes Hospital, St. Francis Home, and SSM Hospice, and to Pastor Schwartz and Pastor Buch for the visits, care, and compassion given to Donna over the years.
