Donna J. Trapp

Donna Jean Trapp, 78 of Fond du Lac, completed her journey in this life on February 24, 2013after being diagnosed with congestive heart failure. Donna Jean was born March 14, 1934 to Lyle and Myra Lyness Rennert. She was a graduate of Fond du Lac Senior High School Class of 1952.Donna Jean was united in marriage to Cyril Bertram from 1953 to 1978. She served as the 1st Female Commander of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary-Fond du Lac District. She later through her endeavors met "her best friend and soul mate, Martel P. Christensen and they were married in 2000. The two enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, spending time at the trailer in the Enchanted Forest Campground. Donna Jean was very active in helping run several local programs such as Share, Loaves and Fishes, H.A. N. D. (Hamilton Area Neighborhood). She was also on the Eagles ritual team, member and past president. Donna Jean was a member of the Senior Center, serving on the advisory board and working at the Craft Shop. After the sad loss of "Marty" to cancer in 2001, Donna Jean met her soul mate Lester Trapp. They were married in 2003. Donna Jean was a devoted member of the Church of Peace, actively involved in functions such as church council, choir, usher, reader, Ladies Aid serving as treasurer, Church of Women United serving as treasurer, and the annual Church of Peace bazaars and bake sales for many years. She also loved being a member and past "queen bee" of the Fond du Lac Red Hat Honeys. Recently, Donna Jean became a proud graduate of the Citizens Police Academy.SURVIVORS: She is survived by nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, great-grand nieces and nephews. She is further by her special niece Luwana Higgins who became more like a daughter, and "Bogey" her loyal Shi-Tzu and baby boy. Donna Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her only brother Thomas Edward Higgins, her former husband Cyril Bertram and her two husbands, Martel Christensen and Lester Trapp and some very dear friends.



VISITATION: The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 28, 2013 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Church of Peace. FUNERAL: Memorial services will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 3:00 PM at the Church of Peace with Reverend's Jennifer C.M. Dawson and James F.D. Martin officiating.
