Doris I Johnson

Doris I. Johnson, 87, of Markesan, died Friday, July 1, 2016 at the Markesan Residence Home. She was born May 11, 1929 in Green Lake County, the daughter of George and Martha Gennetz Hempel. Doris worked for GTE, Johnson Controls and was a beautician, retiring in 2003. She enjoyed knitting, playing sheepshead, traveling and visiting family.



She is survived by two daughters, Carol (Gary) Nelson of Murfreesboro, TN and Betty Sauerbrei of Fort Atkinson; four grandchildren, Bryan (Kandie) Nelson, Dennis (Nancy) Sauerbrei, Tracy (Kristi) Nelson, and Kevin (Laura) Nelson; eight great grandchildren; four sisters, Violet Collar of Markesan, Edna Sina, Deliane Scherer, and Donna (Riley) Mincy, all of Fond du Lac. She was preceded in death by her parents.



At Doris’ request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 pm on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Estabrooks Cemetery.
