Doris L. Smith, 86 of Fond du Lac, died Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born October 3, 1923 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Frank and Lydia Keilberg Rebedew. Doris graduated from Lowell P. Goodrich High School in 1941. On July 31, 1943 she married Charles J. Smith, Jr. at Church of Peace, Fond du Lac. She worked for Wright Brothers Paper Box Company, Wells Manufacturing and One Hour Martinizing Inc. Doris was a member of Church of Peace where she had taught Sunday School for many years. She was a room mother, PTA President, and Girl Scout and Brownie Troop Leader. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, reading, doing puzzles and taking long drives.SURVIVORS: her husband, Charles; six children, Linda Zabel, Raytown, MO, Carol (LaVerne) Andrew, Waupun, Denny (Faye) Smith, Fond du Lac, Jeffery (Judy) Smith, Ladson, SC, Randall (Linda) Smith, Van Dyne, Sharon (Chris) Paul, Fox Lake; 19 grandchildren, Nettie Yewell, Darleen Marsh, Bruce (Sandy) Zabel, Lisa (Scott) Phelps, Debra (Brad) Spoerke, Dale (Beth) Andrew, Keith Smith, Kimberly Smith, Rhonda Smith, Rhonda Mingus, Angela Smith, Rebecca (Clinton) Gamsby, Jessica Smith, Cory, Eric and Nicole Smith, Kortnea and Desirae Adams, Benjamin Paul; 23 great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren. She is further survived by one sister, Patricia Wirtz, Fond du Lac; one brother, Frank (Carole) Rebedew, Neshkoro; two sisters-in-law, Gail Rebedew, Fond du Lac, Gloria Rebedew, Fond du Lac; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandchild, Brenden Adams; four brothers, Charles (Delores), Robert (Phyllis), Edward, and Melvin Rebedew.
VISITATION: will be from 4 "“ 7 PM on Friday, October 16, 2009 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again on Saturday, October 17, 2009 from 10 "“ 11 AM at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home with Rev. Gerald Schrankler officiating.
