Doris Reginell

January 19, 1922 — December 15, 2014

Doris (Bestor) Reginell, 92, of Fond du Lac, died Monday, December 15, 2014. She was born January 19, 1922, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Bert and Edna Sterns Bestor. Mrs. Reginell attended Fond du Lac High School. On April 24, 1940, she married Raymond J. Kienow at Church of the Presentation in North Fond du Lac. He preceded her in death in 1975. She later married Harold J. Reginell on February 14, 1975 and he preceded her in death on July 9, 1998. Mrs. Reginell was one of the first crossing guards on the corner of Forest Avenue and Hickory Street for Lincoln School which is now Lincoln House. Mrs. Reginell was a member of St. Louis (Holy Family Parish) and also a member of Holy Family Christian Women’s Society. Doris enjoyed watching the Packers with ‘special friends” Ellie and Gerri (deceased) Gratton. She also enjoyed the Milwaukee Brewers and listening to classic gospel music.

Survivors include two daughters, Dianne (Kienow) Shaw and Sandy (Jerry) Kienow Bradley, both of Fond du Lac, one special step-daughter, Karen (John) Silah of Fond du Lac, three granddaughters, Angela (Robert) Bibbs of Phillips, WI, Jennifer Pike of North Fond du Lac, and Rachel (Partner Kevin Lyness) Thiet of Keene, NH, one grandson, Paul (Special Friend Linda Cooley) Thiet of Park City, UT, two dear sisters, Evelyn Smith of Fond du Lac, and Joan (Glenn) Wunsch of Herculaneum, MO, two brothers, Jack Bestor and Don (Marian) Bestor, both of Fond du Lac, many nieces and nephews. Further surviving is a very special nephew, Dennis (Carol) Glass of Waupun and their daughter, Allison (Eric) Neumann also of Waupun who gave so many years of love, caring, and sharing to Doris. She loved them dearly and also a special niece and Godchild, Nancy Davies of Fond du Lac, who was so helpful, loving, and thoughtful. A special thank you to her dear friend, Kate Barr, who was so faithful, calling on her every week for years, and her many thoughtful deeds, and Vicki O’Grady, Ellie Gratton, Bob and Marlene Thompson, Robin and Josh Kahlhammer,Mary Heider and special neighbor Bonnie Dyksinski.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, six sisters, four brothers, a great-grandson, Trevor Shaw, and a step-son, Robert Reginell.

Visitation for Doris V. Reginell will be on Friday, December 19, 2014, from 9 to 11 AM at Holy Family Church, 271 4th Street Way, Fond du Lac. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Friday the 19th at the church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family would appreciate memorials being directed to Agnesian Healthcare Hospice. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
