Doris Virginia Jung

Doris Virginia JungDoris Virginia Jung, 93, passed away on Monday, October 15, 2007 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. She was born in Sheboygan, WI, April 29, 1914, the daughter of Henry and Erna (Hansen) Zehms. Doris was a long time resident of Sheboygan. She moved to Fond du Lac in recent years to be closer to some of her family.Doris graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1932, attended Sheboygan Business College, and later went to Lakeland College where she majored in music. She was a church organist for over 25 years.Doris married Jacob Nelson Jung, a well-known Interior Designer from Sheboygan on October 22, 1938. He preceded her in death in 1977. Doris was an assistant to her husband for 7 years until his passing. She also worked in the office at the Vollrath Company, and as a secretary for the Air Force Recruiting Service. In later years, she worked as a companion aide.Doris loved people and liked to laugh. She touched the hearts of others with her music, and was beloved for the lightness of her spirit, and her kind, compassionate nature.She is survived by her daughter, Marjorie D. Jung of Bristol, CT; two sons, Frederic Jung and Jacob "Jack" (Pat) Jung all of Fond du Lac; two grandchildren, Elizabeth (Jung) White, and Christopher Jung; a great grandchild, Abby; nephews, Craig, Keith, and David Zehms; and a sister-in-law, Jeanne Zehms. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Carl Zehms, and brother-in-law, Wayne Jung.



At Doris' request there will be no visitation. A private service for the immediate family will be held at St. Johns United Church of Christ in Sheboygan where Doris played the organ for 17 years. The Reverend Gregory Whelton will officiate. Burial will be held at Wildwood Cemetery.
