Dorothy A. Becker, 78, of 77 Wisconsin American Drive, died at her residence on Friday, January 04, 2008. She was born June 19, 1929, in Kenosha, the daughter of Bert and Dorothy Dave Thompson. On September 1, 1949, she married Milton A. Becker in Green Bay. He preceded her in death on June 6, 2004. Mrs. Becker was a graduate of Wisconsin State College-Oshkosh, and taught in Fond du Lac at Lincoln and Parkside schools for over 25 years. She was a member of Ladies of the Elks, Lodge #57, and the Fond du Lac Retired Teachers Association. She and her husband retired to Edgewater, FL where she was a substitute teacher and mentor in the Edgewater Schools. Dorothy was a member of the Edgewater Landing Owners Association where she was involved in numerous activities. She and Milt would spend summers in Crooked Lake, WI. Mrs. Becker did extensive outreach work at the Woodlands Senior Park with Agnesian's Christ Child Society, and was always active in the Relay for Life Cancer Walk. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, and friend who touched the lives of all she met with her warm and gentle nature. She is survived by two sons, Michael Becker of Janesville, and Terry (Julie) Becker of Fond du Lac; a daughter, Patricia Becker of St. Louis, MO; five grandchildren, Megan (fiancé' Brett Wendt) Becker of Fond du Lac, Jacob Becker of San Francisco, CA, Katrina Becker of St. Louis, MO, and Adam and Lucas Stoffel, both of Fond du Lac. Two sisters-in-law, Patti Thompson of Cockeysville, MD, and Clara Becker of Allouez, WI. Five nephews, and three nieces further survive her. Her parents, husband, two brothers, Philip and Dr. Charles Thompson, a sister, Eugenia Thompson, and a brother-in-law, Norbert Becker preceded her in death.
Visitation for Mrs. Dorothy A. Becker will be on Tuesday, January 8, 2008, from 9 to 11 am at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Liturgy of the Word for Christian Burial memorial service will be at 11 am at the funeral home. Deacon Larry Hughes will officiate. Cremation has taken place. A memorial has been established in Dorothy's name.
