Dorothy "Dot" Mcgee

Dorothy "Dot" M. McGee, 90, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014 surrounded by family and friends at Manor Care in Fond du Lac. She was born August 15, 1923 in Danbury, CT to Rudolph and Loretta (Smith) Prinz. She was a graduate of Danbury High School and completed nurses training at Danbury hospital, graduating in 1945. She was married to Phillip McGee in Los Angeles, CA in 1951. In 1959, they moved to Fond du Lac. She was previously employed at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home as an RN. Dorothy thoroughly enjoyed camping and she and Phillip enjoyed many years traveling the U.S. Dorothy and Phillip spent many summers at Spike Horn campground in Door County and winters at Paradise Resort in Sun City, AZ. She particularly loved her cats, watching the birds outside and sitting on the front porch with family and friends. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Phillip, of 63 years, her children; son Chris McGee of West Bend, daughter Kim (Mike) Haugen of Antigo, and son, Cameron (Rachel) McGee of Fond du Lac, three grandchildren; Christine (Jesse) Garcia, Steven McGee and Katie McGee, three step-grandchildren; Ashley Peichl, Matt and Becca Haugen. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and a daughter-in-law, Marsha McGee. The family would like to thank the staff of Manor Care and a special thanks to Dr. Deb Corbett and her entire staff at Corbett Chiropractic Care, for helping Dot to maintain her ability to remain independent and to keep moving well past her 90th birthday.



A visitation for Dorothy will be held on Monday, March 31, 2014 from 3:30 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. A Memorial Service will follow the visitation at 6:00 P.M. with Pastor Rob J. Ramirez presiding. Cremation has taken place.
