Dorothy E. Bengel, 94, formerly of 552 S. Main Street, died Friday, December 19, 2008, at All About Life Rehabilitation Center where she had been a resident for the past 3-½ years. She was born January 22, 1914, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of John and Maria Feuerhammer Voight. On November 30, 1940, she married Loren Spillman and he preceded her in death in July of 1941. She later married Frank Bengel on May 15, 1948, and he preceded her in death on January 22, 1998. Mrs. Bengel was a member of Church of Our Saviour Evangelical Lutheran, the Altar Guild, and XYZ, St. Agnes Hospital Auxiliary where she attained over 10,000 hours of volunteerism. Dorothy was also a member of the Y.M.C.A. Auxiliary, and the Moraine Park Homemakers. From 1937 to 1948, she was employed by Canvas Products. Surviving is a daughter, Judy Bengel, a son, Kenneth Bengel, both of Fond du Lac, a step-daughter, Kathleen (Clyde) Hayes of Wheaton, IL, a stepson, John (Sara) Bengel of Brookfield, WI, and 10 step grandchildren. Her parents, a son, Eugene Spillman, and her stepfather, Ollie Johnson preceded her in death.
Visitation for Mrs. Dorothy E. Bengel will on Tuesday, December 23, 2008, from 3 to 4 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 4 pm at the funeral home. The Rev.
