DOROTHY E. CHARLESDorothy E. Charles, 87, a resident of Grancare Nursing Home and formerly of 214 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac died Monday, September 7, 2009 at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born the daughter of Louis and Charlotte Shikany Campagna in Chicago, IL on July 25, 1922. Dorothy received a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from Rosary College, Chicago, IL. On September 15, 1945 she married Dr. John E. Charles in Chicago. Dorothy moved to Fond du Lac with her family in 1957. She owned and operated the Victorian House Antique Shop from 1970-1975. Dorothy enjoyed collecting antiques, needlepoint, loved animals, and taking care of her family.SURVIVORS: she was a beloved mother to, Patricia (Mike) Rathsack, Naperville, IL, Michael (Sharon) Charles, Fond du Lac, Kathleen (John McCall) Charles, Philadelphia, PA, Joan Wild, Fond du Lac, Stephen Charles, Fond du Lac, John Charles, Minneapolis, MN, Lisa (Joe) Stoppleworth, Fond du Lac; two grandchildren, Nick Wild and Alexa McCall; one sister, Joanne (Tony) Cosentino, Surprise, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, John, and one son, Joe Compagna.
