DOROTHY E.HELWERDorothy E. Helwer, 91 was called to the loving arms of her Savior on Thursday,May 4,2006 at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home. She formerly resided at 36 Reid Terrace and was a resident of the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home for the past 7 years. She was born on January 26,1915 in Milwaukee the daughter of Bernard and Marie Stroecher Ahlmann. On March 9,1935 she married Victor Helwer in Milwaukee. Victor preceded her in death on September 16,1987. Born in Milwaukee and living there until 1977 they moved to Shawano Lake near Cecil, WI and lived there until 1988 when she moved to Fond du Lac .She was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church and was a member of the Ladies Aid. Dorothy loved her family, crocheting, knitting and playing scrabble.Survivors include three daughters, Judy (Dan) Klotz, Sussex, Joan Schultz, Fond du Lac, and Linda (Paul) Kaiser, St. Joseph's Michigan, 9 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Bernice Seifert, Newark, Ohio, Marjorie Vetter, Golden City, Missouri, brother-in-law, Elfred Bloedel, Waukesha. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law, David Schultz, two brothers, Roland and Kenneth, two sisters, Eunice and Florence.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 8,2006 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 8,2006 at 11:00 A.M. at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church. Reverend David Haugly will officiate. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Milwaukee.Memorials appreciated to Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church or Fond du Lac Lutheran Home."Special thanks to Pastor's Gaertner, Haugly and Vicar Munson and the staff of the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is serving the family.
